PAINT0083 - The attack of the Twin Towers | Pieces of graphic 3-D and collage-art, using various media and paintings that interact with wording, inspired by 9/11 and expressing the frozen astonishment and waves of shock and exploring the question why, painted on purpose in a naïve, childlike manner, while presenting a good display of Gordon’s artistic range.

Artist statement

I treated shock and horror events starting with the bombardment of Kuwait 11.May 1991 after a picture in Weekend FT; depicting the burning oil wells an environmental and humanitarian disaster.
September 2001
The apocalyptic dimensions of the event are clearly depicted in the two mixed media application slogan “Why I & II” and “The Attack I & II” and culminating in the bombardment of Bagdad on 21st. March 2003
